Our Net
Zero Targets
EQT has achieved its commitment to reach net zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions across the entirety of its upstream operations, inclusive of the recently acquired Tug Hill/XcL Midstream and Alta Resources assets, which were not included in the target originally set in 2021.
How We Reached Net Zero
Preserving the Environment
EQT, West Virginia Division of Forestry, and West Virginia Division of Natural Resources established a public-private partnership to implement USDA conservation management practices across more than 400,000 acres of land in West Virginia to promote the absorption of CO2 from the atmosphere and benefit Appalachia’s renowned forested lands. These efforts are verified by West Virginia University, ensuring economic and environmental benefits to the region.
- Clean-up and removal of invasive species
- Preventative actions to remove invasive species
- Support for monitoring of fire risk and watershed areas
- Improved forest access to support management
- Wildlife habitat emplacement and improvement
- Native tree and shrub placement
- Abandoned mine land reclamation support

EQT’s carbon footprint is constantly evolving with acquisitions and growth.
NetZero Now+ reflects our current achievement, with respect to our 2023 Scope 1 and Scope 2 net GHG emissions, as well as our aspiration to achieve net zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions across all EQT assets in future years.
“This achievement undoubtedly reflects the hard work of our incredible team to revolutionize our operations to effectively reduce our emissions while at the same time achieving peak performance and driving value.”
